 The NDT Division of Fugro-Suhaimi Ltd.
is responsible for the supply of essential
support services within the Mechanical Engineering
sector of the construction industry.
Fugro-Suhaimi
Ltd. NDT Division can provide the following
services:
- Non-Destructive Testing:
FSL can supply services in all the major
NDT disciplines: X-ray and gamma radiography,
ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle
testing, liquid penetrant testing and
holiday detection. These services can
be provided to our clients 'on-site'
and at the fabrication shop as required.
- Mechanical Testing and Destructive Testing:
Carried out in the Dammam located metallurgical
laboratory. The testing establishes
the integrity of welding procedures
and qualifies weld procedure specifications
to the required parameters. Further
to this, the tests verify materials
performance requirements under different
circumstances to establish 'fitness
for purpose' criteria. Tests to establish
such properties areTensilePull Tests,
Charpy Impact Tests, Bend Tests, HardnessTests,
Macro Analysis and Materials Identification.

- Welding Support Services:
The Welding Inspection Department supplies
essential back up services to mechanical
contracting fabricators over a broad
scope of end supply. The provision of
Welding Procedures (WPS), qualification
of such procedures (PQR) via metallurgical
laboratory analysis and witnessing of
the process from start to finish, through
to the qualification of welders (WQT)
who produce the fabricated structures.

- Technical Services:
This area of activity covers the provision
of expert NDT services in the form of
NDT procedural writing, technical appraisal
of complex inspection problems, advanced
technology inspection such as computerized
Tank Floor Testing, NDT personnel qualification
and general support of a technical nature.
The division is also able to perform
calibration of NDT and Welding equipment.
